Well folks, slowly but surely, summer is making an appearance in Victoria. There were a couple of seriously hot days this week! With summertime comes festival season, and we've already taken in V.I.C. Fest 2011, Jump Ship, Jazz Fest, and more recently Ska Fest this week.
I've taken in a couple of the shows this week, and have been really impressed (as always) with the hard work of Victoria's Ska Society, and the performers. Last night, Ken Boothe (rocksteady legend) blew me away! He reminded me of the 'Don Cherry' of rocksteady, fancy suit and all! Executive House is proud to be hosting the festival headliners this week; we're waiting for the arrival of Ky-Mani Marley and Gramps Morgan tomorrow.
We're looking forward to the upcoming Busker's Festival. It feels like we're seeing more festivals than ever before in the harbour this summer, which is bound to keep our visitors happy!
Let's keep our fingers crossed that these rain clouds head elsewhere, and that this wind will give us a break! Here's to summer!
